A Marathon that became tradition!


  • International Rhodes Marathon is the biggest sports event of the island of Rhodes taking place the past seven years.
  • During the pandemic the race was organized Virtually, providing the opportunity to runners of the world to run the distance they want (Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10km., 5km.) in any part of the planet and upload they performance on Sporthive Live/Rhodes Virtual Marathon app, taking place at the biggest sports event of Rhodes.


The target was to receive at least 350 registrations of runners in Virtual Rhodes Marathon 2021, while in the 7th Rhodes Marathon that was performed with physical presence for the first time after two years of the pandemic the target was to attract runners from all over the world.


The mission of Three Sixty Marketing was:
1. To communicate 1st Rhodes Virtual Marathon aiming at the increase of awareness and registrations in the App.
2. To communicate the comeback of Rhodes Marathon with physical presence for its 7th time and attract runners from more countries globally.


The Digital Marketing Strategy Plan of Three Sixty was based on the following:

1. Virtual: To communicate 1st Virtual Rhodes Marathon, an innovative action aiming to bring together runners from all over the world at a difficult year. This communication was performed through social media content with social campaigns in Facebook/Instagram and Google Ads with international target group. Those campaigns aimed at the awareness and attainment of desired registrations on the application, targeting at 7 countries in the first place.


2. 7th Rhodes Marathon:

  • At the promotion of Rhodes Marathon comeback with physical presence through social media posts and social campaigns in Facebook/Instagram, with Google Ads targeting in international target groups and through the creation of content for promotion by domestic and foreign television stations.
  • At the creation of a website that presents with the best possible way the size of the institution and its potentials targeting at the easiest provision of information and attraction of runners.


1st Rhodes Virtual Marathon was a great success with the following results:

  • More than 2000 registrations of athletes from 44 different countries of the world.
  • The attainment of the target reached 700%
  • Those results followed our previous success to the project, since 7th Rhodes Marathon even though it was cancelled in May 2020 had already recorded 300% increase of runners with the help of Three Sixty Marketing.


7th Rhodes Marathon made a dynamic comeback recording:

  • Participation record from 51 countries.
  • The highest number of registrations in Marathon and Half-Marathon races of Rhodes Marathon.
  • Live broadcasting through ERT3


Three Sixty managed to achieve and exceed targets with spectacular results, firmly boosting the identity of Rhodes Marathon and continues to be a strategic partner and media sponsor. In this project the members of the race’s organizing committee, Mr. Papavasileiou as President, Mrs. Adamaki Eleni as B’ Vice-President, Mrs. Tsitsipa Kleopatra as Secretary and Mr. Dimitris Gkartzonis as Media Manager contributed at a great extent.

Three Sixty Marketing is a valuable strategic partner of International Rhodes Marathon – Roads to Rhodes Marathon, having contributed through a targeted communication strategy for the boosting of the race’s promotion to the international running audience. The impact of the campaign for the 1st Rhodes Virtual Marathon was absolutely successful with more than 2000 registrations from Greece and 44 different countries of the world, exceeding the primary predictions and evaluations!

International Rhodes Marathon has become a tradition for the world running community and our cooperation with Three Sixty Marketing has established the brand and reinforced the impact of the biggest athletic event in Rhodes and South Aegean.
